Morrigane Crow est née le jour du Merveillon, ce qui signifie deux choses : 

1. Elle est maudite.

2. Elle est condamné à mourir à minuit le jour de ses onze ans. Son cercueil l'attend.

Elle est sauvée in extremis par un homme étrange qui l'emmène dans le royaume magique de Nevermoor...

Quand on début ce roman, on entre dans une histoire magique pleine de surprises, d'actions avec un univers prometteur, bien construit et complet. Du début à la fin, j'étais absorbé par ma lecture. C'était tellement bien. Vraiment très original. Au début, cela me faisait penser à Harry Potter, peut-être influencée par l'avis de Time Magazine qui est dos déclarant "Une aventure Harry Potteresque". Mais plus j'avançais dans l'histoire et plus je l'individualisais jusqu'à ne plus voir que Nevermoor.

Très vite, on s'attache à Morrigane de par sa situation quelque peu délicate. Sa famille est super distante, elle se sent tellement seule dans cette famille qui n'attend qu'une chose : son anniversaire pour qu'elle meurt. Une ambiance très glauque donc en ce début de roman, qui m'a plu plus que ce que je ne peux l'admettre. hhh

Au cours du roman, et donc au cours des rencontres avec les autres personnages, on s'attache également à certains d'entre eux. Je pense particulièrement à Fenestra le chat qui est très joueur et compétitif. Je l'ai beaucoup aimé, beaucoup aimé qu'il soit un peu creusé avec une vraie personnalité comme ça au lieu d'être juste un instrument pour faire avancer l'histoire.

She is rescued at the very last moment by a strange man who takes her to the magical kingdom of Nevermoor...

When we start this novel, we enter a magical story full of surprises, actions with a promising universe, well built, and complete. From beginning to end, I was absorbed in reading. It was so good. Really very original. At first, it made me think of Harry Potter, perhaps influenced by the opinion of Time Magazine which is on the back of the book saying "A Harry Potteresque adventure". But the further I went in the story and the more I individualized it up to only see Nevermoor.
Very quickly, we grow attached to Morrigane because of its somewhat delicate situation. Her family is super distant, she feels so alone in this family which only waits for one thing: her birthday for her to die. So a very gloomy atmosphere at the beginning of the novel, which I liked more than I can admit. hhh
During the novel, and therefore in the course of meetings with the other characters, we also get attached to some of them. I particularly think of Fenestra the cat who is very playful and competitive. I liked it a lot; I liked the cat who has a deep and real personality instead of being just an instrument to make move on the story.
I can't wait to read the next book!!
