Mon avis
J'ai adoré me remettre dans cette histoire originale. Dans ce tome, on découvre un peu plus Wan, le Serpaï, et c'est vraiment un plaisir. Ce personnage m'intriguait déjà lors du premier tome. Il est complexe et imprévisible et cela le rend tellement intéressant.
Par contre, contre toute attente après la lecture du premier volume, on retombe dans le cliché du triangle amoureux. Ceci est combiné avec un amour impossible, interdit ce qui rend ce triangle amoureux un peu original et en tout cas différent, selon moi.
On découvre un peu plus le monde dans lequel nos protagonistes vivent : celui-ci n'a pas l'air très facile pour des adolescents. L'auteure met l'accent sur les tensions entre chaque clan mais également dans les clans eux-mêmes, ce qui montre le fragile équilibre dans lequel ils vivent et se construisent.
L'auteure inclut des éléments de notre quotidien dans cet univers. Mais pour Maya, Bregan et leurs amis, ceux-ci appartiennent à une époque révolue. J'ai adoré ce point de vue, cette découverte de notre culture (critique de notre façon de vivre actuelle ?) à travers les yeux d'adolescents qui n'en voient que le danger. J'espère que l'auteure continuera à développer ce côté-là de l'histoire dans le(s) prochain(s) livre(s).
Il me tarde donc de découvrir comment fonctionnent les autres clans, Serpaï avec notre intriguant Wan et Rapaï avec notre douce et curieuse Nel mais également de voir la prochaine couverture. La couverture du premier tome et de celui-ci étant magnifique, je m'attends à une illustration superbe.

My opinion
I loved getting back in this original story. In this book, we discover a little bit more about Wan, the Serpaï, and it's a great pleasure. This character was already intriguing me in the first book. He is complex and unpredictable and that makes him so interesting.
However, against all odds after the reading of the first volume, we get the cliché of the love triangle. That is combined with an impossible love, which makes this love triangle a little original and in any case different, I think.
We discover a little more the world in which our characters are living: it doesn't seem very easy for teenagers. The author highlights the tensions between each clan but also in the clans themselves, which illustrates the fragile balance in which they are living and are being built up.
The writer involves elements of our daily life in this universe. But for Maya, Bregan, and their friends, those belong to a bygone era. I loved that point of view, this discovery of our culture (critic of our current way of life?) through the eyes of teenagers who only see the danger in it. I hope the writer will develop this side of the story in the following book(s).
I can't wait for discovering how work the other clans, the Serpaï with our intriguing Wan and the Rapaï with our sweet and curious Nel but I also can't wait for seeing the next cover. The cover of the first book and of this one being wonderful, I am expecting a superb illustration.
