Tome 1 : Le souffle de la hyène
Etant une grande fan du travail de Pierre Bottero, je m'attendais à un livre passionant, pleins d'actions et à la découverte d'un nouveau monde.Ce premier tome a été littéralement dévoré par mes soins. Je suis entré dans cet univers avec un grand plaisir, avec cette maison étrange entourée de cette prairie encore plus étrange, ces histoires de familles puissantes qui s'entre-détruisent et ces deux personnages, Nathan et Shaé, qui découvrent leur héritage, et son poids, en même temps que nous.
Tome 2 : Le maître des tempêtes
Ce deuxième tome a été une petite déception. On reste avec nos deux adolescents, Nathan et Shaé, qui en découvrent de plus en plus sur leur monde. Mais j'ai été déçue vers la fin du roman, au moment du dénouement. Je l'ai trouvé facile, vraiment facile. Je n'y ai pas cru en fait. Ca sonnait faux à mes oreilles. Mais j'ai quand même voulu savoir la suite avec le dernier tome.
Tome 3 : La huitième porte
Ce dernier tome m'a vraiment déçu. Tout d'abord, on ne suit plus Nathan et Shaé. On en entend même que peu parler. On ne sait pas ce qu'ils sont devenus.
De plus, ce pauvre gamin a une telle responsabilité sur les épaules qu'il est difficile de croire qu'il puisse réussir. D'ailleurs, pourquoi l'Autre n'a pas déjà détruit le monde ? Attendait-il qu'Elio ait un âge adéquat pour le battre ? Encore une fois je n'arrive pas à y croire.
Mais par curiosité du dénouement final, (et puis, ça reste un roman de Pierre Bottero) je poursuis ma lecture. Là, le moment fatidique arrive, le petit Elio va se battre avec la troisième partie de l'Autre. Mais cette "bataille" est tellement ridicule. Certes, c'est un gamin, il ne peut pas manier une épée mais du coup, ce grand méchant de toute la trilogie paraît tellement faible et fragile! C'est ridicule! Encore une fois, ce dénouement est trop facile.
Mais pour finir en beauté, l'auteur amène un personnage dans ce roman qui pourrait ouvrir sur un tout autre monde, un peu féérique selon les dires d'Elio. Mais il ne le développe pas, ce personnage n'est pas travaillé, et son monde encore moins. Nous n'avons qu'une ouverture et c'est à nous d'imaginer comment cela peut être là-bas.
En conclusion, cette trilogie est un peu décevante. Je m'attendais à mieux étant donné l'admiration que j'ai pour cet auteur. Mais elle reste extrêmement bien écrite, imaginative et pleine d'actions. Elle comporte quand même des personnages à qui il est facile de s'attacher et un monde tellement intéressant qu'on veut en savoir plus.

My opinion
Tome 1: The breath of the hyena
Being a big fan of the work of Pierre Bottero, I was expecting an exciting book, full of actions and the discovery of a new world. I literally devoured this tome. I entered this universe with such a great pleasure, with this strange house surrounded by this even stranger meadow, these stories of powerful families who are destroying each other and these two characters, Nathan and Shaé, who discover their inheritance - and its weight - at the same time as us.
Tome 2: The Storm Master
This second book was a small disappointment for me. We stay with our two teenagers, Nathan and Shaé, who discover more and more about their world. However, about the end of the novel, I was disappointed with the outcome. I found it easy, really easy. I did not believe it in fact. It sounded wrong in my ears. Nevertheless, I still wanted to know the rest with the last book.
Tome 3: The eighth door
This last book really disappointed me. First, we do not follow Nathan and Shaé anymore. We even only hear little about them. We do not know what they have become.
Moreover, this poor kid has such a responsibility on his shoulders that it is hard to believe that he can succeed. Besides, why has the Other not already destroyed the world? Was he waiting for Elio to be old enough to beat him? Once again, I cannot believe it.
However, out of curiosity of the final outcome (It remains a novel by Pierre Bottero.), I continue my reading. There, the fateful moment arrives, little Elio will fight with the third part of the Other. Nevertheless, this 'battle' is so ridiculous. For sure, he's only a kid. He cannot handle a sword, but as a result, this big villain of all the trilogy seems so weak and fragile! It's ridiculous! Once again, this outcome is too easy.
In order to end in beauty, the author brings a character in this novel that could open on a completely different world, a little magical, according to Elio. However, he does not develop her; this character is not worked out, and her world is even less. We only have one opening and it is up to us to imagine how it can be there.
In conclusion, this trilogy is a little disappointing. I was expecting better given the admiration I have for this author. However, it remains extremely well written, imaginative and full of actions. It still has characters that are easy to be attached to and a world so interesting that we want to know more about.
